A successful entrepreneur who owns and operates AMPS International in Pembroke Pines, Florida, James Amps previously served six years in the United States Navy, completing tours in multiple war-torn foreign regions. As a communications officer, he built the skills that are necessary to deliver informative and compelling messages to large audiences. He released the public speaking book Speaking to Excel in 2000, the same year that he received the Celebrity Enterprise Speaker of the Year award. James Amps has also authored a special report on speaking for professionals and the highly acclaimed book on Bullying entitled Speak For Yourself America’s Resource to Stop Bullying.
Outside of the professional arena, James Amps enjoys playing golf, going bowling, viewing rare coins, and cooking meals from scratch. He is also an avid reader whose favorite book is Tom Clancy’s The Hunt for Red October. In addition to following Florida-based sports teams, such as the Miami Heat and the University of Miami Hurricanes, he is a longtime fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
